UFM Breaks Ground on Tribute and Social Welfare Projects in Quang Ngai

As part of activities marking the announcement of the decision to establish the University of Finance - Marketing Campus in Quang Ngai Province and celebrating the University's 50th Traditional Day (September 1, 1976 - September 1, 2026), the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) organized and coordinated several meaningful tribute and social welfare initiatives in Quang Ngai Province.

On June 15, 2026, UFM and relevant organizations held a groundbreaking ceremony at the Quang Ngai Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery for a project honoring fallen heroes. The project forms part of the renovation and upgrading of the cemetery and is funded by UFM. It reflects the Vietnamese traditions of remembering those who came before us and repaying gratitude, as well as the University's profound appreciation for the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. UFM provided total funding of VND 260 million for the project.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Quang Ngai provincial leadership, departments, agencies and local authorities. Representing UFM were Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Le Trung Dao, PhD, Vice Rector; Bui Thi Yen Linh, PhD, Director of UFM's Quang Ngai Campus; and leaders of University units.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates observed a minute of silence to honor the immense contributions of fallen heroes. The commemoration expressed the profound gratitude of today's generation to those who devoted their youth and sacrificed their lives for national liberation, reunification and the defense of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of UFM emphasized that renovating and upgrading the Quang Ngai Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery would not only improve the landscape and enhance the memorial space but also help educate the University's officials, lecturers, staff, employees and students about patriotism, gratitude and social responsibility.

Quang Ngai provincial leaders, UFM leaders and delegates then performed the groundbreaking ritual. Once completed, the project is expected to create a dignified and well-maintained memorial space worthy of the noble sacrifices made by fallen heroes.

Alongside the tribute project, UFM coordinated with the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Mo Cay Commune in Quang Ngai Province to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a Friendship House for Tran Thi Bich Loan, a Grade 10A3 student at Pham Van Dong High School whose family is facing particularly difficult circumstances.

The UFM Youth Union is implementing the project with total support of VND 60 million. The new house is intended to provide Bich Loan's family with a safe and stable home, improve their living conditions, and give her greater confidence to continue her studies, pursue her aspirations and overcome hardship.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the local authorities, agencies and organizations of Mo Cay Commune, as well as the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union. Representing UFM were Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Le Trung Dao, PhD, Vice Rector; Bui Thi Yen Linh, PhD, Director of UFM's Quang Ngai Campus; leaders of University units; representatives of the UFM Youth Union; and Tran Thi Bich Loan's family.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, emphasized that building the Friendship House was not only a meaningful social welfare initiative but also an expression of the care and responsibility of UFM officials, lecturers and students toward the local community. With the official establishment of its Quang Ngai Campus, UFM aims not only to expand access to education and train high-quality human resources but also to work alongside the province on community initiatives, support younger generations and contribute to Quang Ngai's sustainable development. The new home is expected to encourage Bich Loan and her family to overcome their difficulties and move forward, while serving as an early milestone in the long-term relationship between UFM and Quang Ngai.

Tran Thi Bich Loan currently lives with her family in Residential Area No. 2, Minh Tan Bac, Mo Cay Commune, Quang Ngai Province. The six-member household faces severe financial hardship. Her father suffered a traffic accident that affected his health and left him unable to maintain stable employment, while her mother works informal jobs with an uncertain income. Her older brother is currently completing his military service. The family's house has seriously deteriorated, with many damaged sections, frequent leaks and flooding during the rainy season, directly affecting their daily life and study conditions.

Following an on-site assessment, the UFM Youth Union identified the family as needing timely assistance. The Friendship House project was therefore developed through close coordination between UFM and local authorities to help the family secure stable housing and ease their difficulties.

At the ceremony, local leaders, UFM representatives and Tran Thi Bich Loan's family performed the groundbreaking ritual, marking the beginning of construction on their new home. Once completed, the house is expected to provide a safer, more comfortable and stable living environment, while offering meaningful encouragement for Bich Loan to continue studying, developing herself and pursuing her dreams.

The projects in Quang Ngai are practical initiatives undertaken by UFM to celebrate the University's 50th Traditional Day. Throughout nearly half a century of development, UFM has remained committed not only to training high-quality human resources but also to community service, social welfare and responsibility toward the localities where the University establishes and expands its presence.

Through the tribute project and the Friendship House, UFM continues to affirm its commitment to development through community service. These initiatives also promote compassion and social responsibility, helping build a strong and lasting relationship between UFM and Quang Ngai Province in a new stage of development.
