Quality Assurance
A Commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement
At the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), quality assurance is an integral part of academic management and program development. UFM is committed to maintaining and continuously enhancing the quality of its academic programs through systematic assessment, stakeholder engagement, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous improvement.
For the High-Quality, Fully English-Taught Undergraduate Programs in Marketing, Business Administration, and International Business, quality assurance is implemented through a structured cycle of planning, implementation, assessment, review, improvement, and monitoring.
The quality assurance approach is designed to ensure that program objectives, Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), curriculum, teaching and learning activities, student assessment, faculty development, student support, learning resources, and graduate outcomes remain aligned with the needs and expectations of students and other stakeholders.
Our Quality Assurance Cycle
UFM applies a continuous quality improvement approach in which assessment results are used as evidence for identifying strengths, improvement needs, and priorities for action.
Plan
Establish program objectives, Program Learning Outcomes, curriculum requirements, assessment plans, quality targets, and improvement priorities.
Implement
Deliver the curriculum and academic activities, provide teaching and learning resources, support students, and implement planned quality enhancement activities.
Assess
Collect and analyze evidence from program assessment, stakeholder feedback, student learning results, graduate outcomes, and other relevant quality indicators.
Review
Review assessment findings and identify strengths, gaps, and areas requiring further improvement.
Improve
Develop and implement improvement actions addressing identified needs in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, faculty development, student support, and stakeholder engagement.
Monitor
Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of improvement actions and use the results as inputs for the next quality assurance cycle.
Program Quality Assurance
Quality assurance at the program level is supported by systematic review across key areas of program operation and educational quality.
The three High-Quality, Fully English-Taught Undergraduate Programs have conducted comprehensive internal quality assessment and developed improvement plans covering 11 quality standards and 50 assessment criteria.
The assessment and improvement process addresses key dimensions including:
• Program objectives and Program Learning Outcomes
• Program structure and curriculum
• Teaching and learning
• Student assessment
• Faculty and academic staff
• Student recruitment and support
• Learning resources and information technology
• Facilities and learning environment
• Program quality monitoring and assessment
• Stakeholder engagement and feedback
• Graduate outcomes and continuous improvement
The mid-term quality assessment reports for the three programs document the implementation of improvement activities and the results of the assessment process. The reports indicate that 50 out of 50 criteria met the requirements for each program, representing 100% of the applicable criteria.
Evidence-Based Quality Assurance
UFM's quality assurance approach emphasizes the use of evidence to support academic decision-making and improvement.
Evidence used in the quality assurance process includes, as applicable:
• Program and curriculum documentation
• Program Learning Outcomes and PLO–course alignment
• Course specifications and syllabi
• Teaching and learning information
• Student assessment results
• Faculty information and professional development records
• Student feedback and satisfaction information
• Alumni and employer feedback
• Graduate employment and outcome information
• Stakeholder engagement records
• Facilities and learning resource information
• Quality assessment and self-assessment results
• Improvement plans and implementation reports
These sources of evidence enable programs to move beyond compliance-oriented assessment toward evidence-based quality enhancement.
Stakeholder Engagement
Quality assurance is strengthened through engagement with key stakeholders.
The programs use feedback and information from relevant stakeholders, including students, faculty members, alumni, employers, and other relevant partners, to identify opportunities for improvement.
Stakeholder-related improvement activities include the review of feedback mechanisms, engagement with alumni and employers, monitoring of satisfaction, strengthening relationships with stakeholders, and the use of stakeholder information in program development and quality improvement.
Quality Assurance in Action
The quality assurance process is demonstrated through the implementation of the three programs' quality assessment and improvement cycles.
For the Marketing, Business Administration, and International Business programs, the process has included:
Assessment of program quality
↓
Identification of strengths and improvement needs
↓
Development of improvement plans
↓
Implementation of improvement actions
↓
Mid-term review of results
↓
Monitoring and further improvement
This approach ensures that quality assurance is not a one-time activity but an ongoing process embedded in program management and development.
Continuous Improvement
UFM views quality assurance and continuous improvement as interconnected processes.
Assessment provides evidence.
Evidence informs decisions.
Decisions lead to improvement actions.
Improvement actions are monitored and evaluated.
The results provide input for the next cycle.
Accordingly, the completion of an improvement action does not represent the end of the quality assurance process. Programs continue to monitor implementation, evaluate effectiveness, respond to stakeholder needs, and identify further opportunities for enhancement.
Quality assurance at UFM is therefore understood as a continuous cycle of assessment, evidence-based decision-making, improvement, and further assessment.
