UFM 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign Officially Gets Underway
June 22, 2026
Joining the vibrant summer volunteer programs and campaigns launched by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) held the launch ceremony for the UFM 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign at the Long Truong Campus on the morning of June 21.
The year 2026 holds special significance for UFM students as the University prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Traditional Day (September 1, 1976 - September 1, 2026). This milestone not only marks an important stage in UFM's development but also gives generations of students an opportunity to reaffirm their pioneering spirit, social responsibility and long-standing commitment to community service.
The launch ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh, Member of the Standing Committee and Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union; Cao Tan Huy, PhD, Deputy Secretary of the UFM Party Committee and Vice Rector; leaders of University units; representatives of partner organizations and sponsors; and more than 500 volunteers representing over 10,500 students registered for the campaign.

Running from June 21 to August 2, 2026, the UFM Green Summer Volunteer Campaign will operate on a broad scale and involve more than 10,500 volunteer participants. It comprises nine faculty- and institute-level teams and three specialized teams, which will carry out practical activities aligned with their academic expertise, local needs and the key priorities of Ho Chi Minh City youth.
This year's UFM volunteer activities will be implemented in 10 areas of Ho Chi Minh City: Long Truong, Tan Thuan, Duc Nhuan, Cau Kieu, An Khanh, Sai Gon, Tan My, Tan Hung, Phu Thuan and Phu Nhuan. The campaign will also extend to the Con Dao Special Zone, Quang Ngai Province and Hue City. UFM recently established campuses in Quang Ngai and Hue.
Expanding the campaign's reach reflects the commitment of UFM students to the community and demonstrates the University's support for local development.
A major highlight of the UFM 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is a series of youth projects and initiatives valued at more than VND 600 million.
Key projects include donating two computer laboratories to Huong Thuy High School and Huong Tra High School in Hue City, with total funding of VND 250 million; building a VND 60 million Friendship House in Quang Ngai Province; providing local young people with free digital skills courses, examinations and certificates; installing lighting on rural roads; donating bicycles, scholarships and notebooks to students in difficult circumstances; renovating children's playgrounds; establishing a youth vegetable garden at the Con Dao Border Guard Station; and conducting other meaningful social welfare activities.
The campaign will also draw on the academic strengths of UFM students through the Digital Summer Volunteer Team. Its community digital transformation activities will help residents access technology, improve their digital skills and apply information technology in daily life. This is a key component of the campaign's contribution to Vietnam's national digital transformation policy and highlights the pioneering role of young people in the new era.

Youth projects and initiatives planned for this year's campaign.
The campaign is supported by the UFM Party Committee, the Management Board, leaders of University units, and numerous businesses, organizations and partners. Silver sponsorship is provided by Masan MEATLife Joint Stock Company through the PÖNNIE brand. Bronze sponsors include Kenh Tai Tro Communications Solutions Company Limited, 3 Mien Noodles, the UFM Center for Foreign Languages and Informatics, and Vexere Trading and Services Company Limited.
Their support has provided additional resources for UFM students to carry out meaningful projects and activities that deliver practical benefits to the community and society.
Speaking at the ceremony, Cao Tan Huy, PhD, Deputy Secretary of the UFM Party Committee and Vice Rector, recognized and commended the Youth Union, Student Association and students for their responsible and proactive preparations. He expressed his expectation that the Campaign Steering Committee would continue to show initiative and creativity, implement the registered projects effectively, and give particular attention to the new locations in Hue and Quang Ngai so that UFM students could make a positive and lasting contribution in these communities.
Addressing the volunteers, Cao Tan Huy, PhD, encouraged every student to uphold solidarity, responsibility, discipline and youthful enthusiasm; apply their knowledge and skills in practice; successfully complete their assigned duties; and grow through meaningful volunteer experiences.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, the campaign introduced its first activities: the Traffic Coordination Volunteer Team; the online exhibition spaces titled "Following Uncle Ho's Footsteps" and "The City Named After Uncle Ho"; and the talk show "Caring for Mental Health and Sustaining the Journey of Service."
Each project and activity will leave a meaningful mark, spreading humanitarian values and a sense of responsibility while showcasing the dynamism, confidence and creativity of UFM students during this special academic year, which celebrates the University's 50th Traditional Day.

The online exhibition spaces "Following Uncle Ho's Footsteps" and "The City Named After Uncle Ho" are launched to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the day Saigon-Gia Dinh was officially named Ho Chi Minh City (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026).

Pham Thi Kim Ngan, Commander of the UFM 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign and Vice President of the UFM Student Association, said: "The 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is a special milestone for UFM students because it is being held as the University approaches the 50th anniversary of its Traditional Day. The Campaign Steering Committee has carefully prepared the activities, youth projects and initiatives to ensure that they are practical, effective and responsive to the needs of each locality. Although this year's campaign presents considerable pressure, with more than 10,000 volunteers registered and two new UFM campuses in Hue and Quang Ngai, the Steering Committee is confident that the solidarity, responsibility, creativity and enthusiasm of UFM students will enable us to achieve our goals and implement the planned projects effectively. Through the campaign, we hope to spread positive values and present the image of dynamic, confident and responsible UFM students to the community and society."

Campaign ambassadors demonstrate their determination to make the campaign a success.
The UFM 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is not only a journey that brings youthful energy to the community. It also enables every volunteer to carry forward the proud tradition of UFM students and contribute to building a better society through practical and meaningful action.
