UFM Advances Social Responsibility in Con Dao with Public Drinking Fountain Project

On the afternoon of May 3, 2026, the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM), in coordination with the People's Committee of Con Dao Special Zone and the local Tourism Association, held a ceremony to inaugurate and put into service a public drinking fountain project for residents and visitors. The project delivers practical benefits by improving the quality of tourism services and supporting Con Dao's efforts to create a greener, cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Attendees included Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of UFM; Cao Tan Huy, PhD, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Pham Quoc Viet, PhD, Vice Rector; and leaders of UFM units. Representatives of Con Dao Special Zone included Phan Trong Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee; Le Dinh Son and Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee; Tran Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the Con Dao Special Zone Tourism Association; as well as representatives of local agencies and organizations, residents and visitors.
At the ceremony, Tran Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the Con Dao Special Zone Tourism Association, reported on the project's implementation. She said the public drinking fountains had been installed in compliance with technical and hygiene standards, providing safe drinking water directly to residents and visitors while helping reduce plastic waste from single-use bottles.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, Rector of UFM, emphasized: "Funding and implementing the public drinking fountain project is not only part of the University's social responsibility efforts, but also reflects our commitment to working alongside the locality to build a civilized, welcoming and sustainable tourism environment. We expect the project to enhance the experience of residents and visitors while promoting environmental awareness throughout the community."
On behalf of the Con Dao Special Zone People's Committee, Chairman Phan Trong Hien acknowledged and highly appreciated the support of UFM and the Con Dao Special Zone Tourism Association in helping the locality develop tourism and the marine economy. He noted that the public drinking fountain project offers practical benefits for tourism in Con Dao and affirmed that the local authorities would continue to coordinate the effective management and operation of the facilities to best serve residents and visitors.
