Tree Planting Ceremony Marks Vietnam Tree Day in Long Truong Ward

On the morning of January 22, 2026, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Truong Ward partnered with the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) to hold a tree planting ceremony in observance of Vietnam Tree Day. The event took place on the UFM campus at 306 Vo Van Hat Street, Long Truong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
The initiative aimed to promote environmental protection and raise public awareness of the role of trees in regulating the climate and improving the living environment. It also reflected President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people."
Attendees included Kieu Ngoc Vu, Secretary of the Long Truong Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the Ward People's Council; members of the Party Committee's Standing Board; standing members of the People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and representatives of local departments, organizations and forces.
Representing UFM were Cao Tan Huy, PhD, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector and Chairman of the UFM Trade Union; leaders of the University's functional units; Youth Union members; and students.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Long Truong Ward leadership emphasized that tree planting is more than a campaign activity; it is a practical, long-term solution within the strategy for sustainable urban development. Expanding green spaces will help create a greener, cleaner and more attractive living environment while improving residents' quality of life.
On behalf of UFM, Cao Tan Huy, PhD, affirmed that, as a public higher education institution under the Ministry of Finance, the University consistently integrates environmental awareness and sustainable development into its academic activities and student movements. He described the ceremony as a hands-on educational activity that helps students adopt a greener lifestyle and develop a stronger sense of social responsibility as a core force shaping the future.

During the program, Long Truong Ward leaders officially launched the local tree planting campaign, calling on officials, Youth Union members, students and residents to join in caring for, protecting and expanding green spaces across the ward. They encouraged the community to make tree planting a regular and sustained part of everyday life.
Immediately afterward, leaders of Long Truong Ward and UFM took part in the tree planting ceremony. The activity marked the beginning of new green growth and demonstrated their shared commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment for present and future generations.
The Vietnam Tree Day ceremony not only helped enhance the local landscape but also reinforced the message of environmental responsibility, green urban development and sustainability through education and community engagement.
