Within the framework of the “Spring Volunteer Campaign 2026,” on February 3, 2026 (the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month), the Office of Student Affairs, in coordination with the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), organized the program “Away-from-Home Tet Celebration.” The program aimed to provide material and spiritual support for students in difficult circumstances, students residing in the university dormitory, Youth Union and Student Association officers facing hardships, as well as students who were unable to return home to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The traditional Lunar New Year is a sacred occasion for Vietnamese people to reunite with their families, reflect on the past year, and welcome the new year with hope and anticipation. However, in reality, many students are unable to return home for Tet due to financial constraints, geographical distance, or personal circumstances. Understanding and sharing these difficulties, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Finance – Marketing have maintained the “Away-from-Home Tet Celebration” as an annual, deeply humane activity, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and companionship toward students.

At the program, the University presented 40 Tet gift packages with a total value of VND 20 million. In addition, 40 scholarships sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs and VPBank were awarded, with a total value of VND 40 million, providing timely support and encouragement to help students overcome difficulties and focus on their studies and personal development.

Beyond material support, the program also emphasized the promotion of national cultural values through experiential activities such as the UFM Spring Festival, music exchange performances, a traditional bánh chưng wrapping contest, and moments of gathering around the bánh chưng pot during the Tet season. These activities not only allowed students to fully experience the atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year, but also contributed to fostering awareness of cultural preservation, while nurturing a spirit of unity, sharing, and community responsibility among Youth Union members and students.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Thai Chau, Deputy Head of the Office of Student Affairs, extended his Lunar New Year greetings to the students, while also warmly inquiring after their well-being and encouraging them to continue striving in their studies and personal development, maintaining confidence, resilience, and the aspiration to rise above challenges in all circumstances.

The “Away-from-Home Tet Celebration” program is one of the hallmark activities of UFM’s Spring Volunteer Campaign, contributing to the affirmation of the pioneering role and social responsibility of the University’s youth with the spirit of “leaving no one behind.” At the same time, the program helps spread a humane message of love, sharing, and the preservation of the nation’s fine traditional values among students.
