On the morning of July 15, 2026, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) held a conference to announce the Minister of Finance’s decisions on the appointment of the University’s Rector and Vice Rectors. The event marked an important milestone as UFM enters a new stage of development, expands its educational network, advances university governance reforms, and prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The conference was attended and chaired by Le Tan Can, Vice Minister of Finance. Representatives from central and local authorities, higher education institutions, UFM’s strategic partners, University leaders, staff members and students were also in attendance.
At the conference, the appointment decisions issued by the Minister of Finance were officially announced. Accordingly, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, PhD, was appointed Rector of the University of Finance – Marketing. Dr. Cao Tan Huy, Assoc. Prof. Pham Quoc Viet, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Le Trung Dao, PhD, were appointed Vice Rectors.

Vice Minister Le Tan Can presented the decisions and congratulated the newly appointed members of the University’s Board of Rectors. The appointments recognise their professional competence, leadership capacity, credibility and contributions, while reflecting the Ministry of Finance’s confidence in UFM’s leadership team for the next stage of development.

In his remarks, Vice Minister Le Tan Can emphasised that strengthening the Board of Rectors was essential to meeting new requirements in university autonomy, governance reform and educational quality enhancement.
He highly appreciated UFM’s achievements throughout nearly 50 years of establishment and development. From an institution primarily serving the finance sector, UFM has grown into a multidisciplinary university with strengths in finance, accounting, auditing, banking, business administration, marketing, real estate, tourism and economics, supported by an expanding network of campuses and branches.
The Vice Minister called on the University’s leadership to uphold unity, innovation, discipline and responsibility. Key priorities include improving learner-centred education; aligning academic programmes with labour market and societal needs; developing highly qualified lecturers and administrators; promoting scientific research, innovation and knowledge transfer; strengthening governance in association with autonomy and accountability; and expanding cooperation with government agencies, local authorities, businesses and domestic and international partners.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Pham Tien Dat, Secretary of the University’s Party Committee and Rector of UFM, expressed his honour and strong sense of responsibility in undertaking the new role.
He affirmed that “Solidarity – Responsibility – Discipline – Innovation” would serve as the leadership team’s guiding principles. The Board of Rectors will work to inspire dedication throughout the University, implement strategic priorities, expand educational opportunities, promote international cooperation, and strengthen engagement with businesses and local communities.

The completion of UFM’s leadership structure provides a solid foundation for institutional stability and development. It also creates renewed momentum for the University’s staff and students to work together towards sustainable growth, enhanced educational quality and deeper international integration in the years ahead.
