On September 18, 2026, the University of Finance - Marketing, in collaboration with domestic and international universities, research institutions and organizations, hosted a series of international scientific conferences under the plenary theme “The Economy, Finance, and Business in the New Context.”

The event brought together scholars, experts, lecturers, researchers, policymakers and representatives from the business community, providing an academic forum for sharing research findings, discussing emerging economic and business issues, and strengthening cooperation among academia, government and industry.

Delivering the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet, Vice Rector of the University of Finance - Marketing, emphasized the importance of fostering an open academic environment where research findings can be exchanged, critically discussed and connected with practical economic challenges.

He noted that the conference series served not only as a platform for academic dialogue, but also as a bridge linking researchers, policymakers and businesses, thereby promoting research collaboration, knowledge sharing and the application of research outcomes to community and societal development.

At the plenary session, participants attended two keynote presentations addressing current issues in technology entrepreneurship and sustainable finance.

Professor Ajay K. Manrai, Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Global Marketing, delivered the presentation “Tech Entrepreneurship: Transforming Breakthrough Technology into Market Success.” His presentation highlighted the important role of marketing in transforming technological innovation into commercially viable products and services. Beyond technological capabilities, businesses need to understand customers, develop clear value propositions, leverage digital channels and build sustainable competitive advantages in an increasingly dynamic market.

The second keynote presentation, “Climate Risk, Equity Vulnerability, and Corporate Responses: Evidence from Resource-Dependent and State-Backed Economies,” was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huy Pham from The Business School, RMIT University Vietnam.
The study examined how capital markets price climate-related risks and how businesses respond through adjustments in financial strategies, ESG-related investment, emissions reduction and innovation. The findings also provided practical implications for investors, businesses and policymakers in identifying and managing climate risks while advancing sustainable development.
Following the plenary session, parallel sessions offered researchers, lecturers, postgraduate students and policymakers opportunities to present research findings and exchange perspectives on policy, governance and contemporary business practices.
Three thematic international conferences were organized as part of the series:
•    “Business based on Digital Platform”, focusing on changes in business models driven by digital platforms, emerging technologies and evolving consumer behaviour, as well as issues related to governance, marketing and innovation in the digital economy.
•    “Finance for Sustainable Development”, addressing green and sustainable finance, financial resource mobilization and allocation, and the role of financial policies in supporting long-term growth and sustainable development.
•    “Reshaping the Global Economic Order in an Era of Uncertainty: Implications and Prospects for Vietnam”, examining shifts in the global economic landscape, emerging uncertainties and their implications for developing economies, with particular attention to policy directions and prospects for Vietnam.
The Organizing Committee also presented certificates of merit to outstanding papers in recognition of their academic quality and research contributions.
Through the participation of universities, research institutions and international partners, the conference series contributed to expanding academic networks, promoting interdisciplinary research and strengthening the connection between scientific research and practical needs.
The successful event further underscored the University of Finance - Marketing’s commitment to advancing scientific research, technology development and international cooperation, while fostering an academic environment for knowledge exchange, research collaboration and the creation of meaningful contributions to sustainable socio-economic development.
