University of Finance - Marketing advances teaching innovation through ai-enabled digital pedagogy training

The programme brought together members of the University Board of Management, leaders of academic and administrative units, and lecturers from faculties and institutes across the University. Designed as a practice-oriented learning environment, the training introduced lecturers to the fundamentals of digital pedagogy and explored how AI can support lesson planning, content development, assessment and personalized learning.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet, Vice Rector of the University of Finance - Marketing, delivers the opening remarks.
The programme featured international experts in educational technology, including Dr. Jim Wagstaff, Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer of Noodle Factory, and Ms. Yvonne Soh, Co-Founder and CEO of Noodle Factory, together with representatives and technical specialists from Noodle Factory Vietnam. Dr. Wagstaff specializes in digital pedagogy and the application of AI in teaching and learning, while Ms. Soh brings extensive experience in technology and AI-enabled education.
Throughout the training, participants explored key principles of digital pedagogy, with particular emphasis on learner-centred teaching, collaboration and digital citizenship. The experts also examined how generative AI can be applied to lesson preparation, question generation, essay assessment and the personalization of learning pathways.

Alongside opportunities offered by AI, the programme addressed important ethical considerations, including data privacy, overreliance on technology and the need to maintain critical thinking when integrating AI into teaching and learning. These discussions helped lecturers approach AI not simply as a technological tool, but as a resource that must be applied responsibly and in accordance with sound pedagogical principles.
A key highlight of the programme was the hands-on session, during which lecturers directly experienced AI-supported teaching tools under the guidance of Noodle Factory experts and technical specialists. Participants explored solutions such as Walter, an AI assistant developed by lecturers; Custom Skills, which supports standardized AI workflows; and NoodleMe, an assistant designed for student use.
Through practical exercises, lecturers developed individual action plans for integrating AI into their teaching. The experience provided participants with practical approaches to lesson design, digital learning materials, assessment innovation and personalized student learning experiences.

The training programme combined technological innovation with pedagogical practice, enabling lecturers to better understand how AI can be used effectively and responsibly in higher education.

Its successful organization reflects the University of Finance - Marketing’s continued commitment to innovating teaching methods, strengthening the digital capabilities of its academic staff and enhancing the quality of education in the digital era.
By equipping lecturers with practical knowledge and tools for AI-assisted teaching, the University continues to foster an adaptive and innovative academic environment in which technology supports — rather than replaces — the central role of educators in creating meaningful learning experiences for students.
