UFM's student team took home First Prize and the Popular Vote Award at the 11th National Student Science Competition — "Econometrics Olympiad and Applications 2026". This marks the second year in a row that UFM's Mathematical Economics students have topped this prestigious academic competition!

The First Prize research paper was titled "Optimizing Stock Trading Portfolios Using Deep Reinforcement Learning and Price Structure Change Detection: Evidence from the Vietnamese Stock Market" — which is as impressive as it sounds! The team consisted of students Tran Ha Anh, Le Minh Thu, and Nguyen Minh Ly, under the supervision of MA. Nguyen Trung Dong from the Faculty of Data Science.

Beyond First Prize, UFM students also clinched 1 Second Prize, 8 Third Prizes, and 6 Honorable Mentions. A stellar result that proves UFM students can hold their own at the highest level of academic competition!
