As part of its international working trip from September 23 to October 1, 2026, a delegation from the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, President of UFM, visited and worked with the Institute of Economics under the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The UFM delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Sc. Sadykov Erkin Tokmukhamedovich, Director General of the Institute, together with representatives of its specialized units. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on research strengths, scientific activities, and potential cooperation in economic research, policy consultancy, and high-quality human resource development.

A key area discussed was joint research and policy consultancy to support economic development, particularly in fields related to public finance, state budget management, taxation, and economic and financial policy. These areas closely align with UFM’s strengths in finance, economics, management, and public policy.
The two sides also explored opportunities to conduct joint research projects, organize academic conferences and seminars, exchange experts, and share research outcomes. Such cooperation is expected to contribute to the development of international research groups and academic networks.

In addition to research collaboration, postgraduate education and faculty exchange were identified as promising areas of cooperation. The Institute currently provides master’s and doctoral training in economics, world economy, innovation, public and local administration, and marketing. Based on these strengths, UFM and the Institute may promote exchanges of lecturers and researchers, joint supervision of doctoral candidates, academic programs, and experience sharing in postgraduate education.
Established in 1952 within the system of the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Economics is one of Kazakhstan’s important economic research institutions. Its research focuses include economic policy and sustainable growth, institutional economics and public administration, innovation and digitalization, regional economics, social policy and human capital, and the world economy.
For UFM, cooperation with the Institute opens up new opportunities to expand its international research network, strengthen policy-oriented research, and enhance connections between academic research and practical economic governance. It also provides opportunities to exchange research methodologies, share data and policy analysis experience, and develop studies with greater practical relevance.

The visit marks another step in UFM’s efforts to strengthen international cooperation with universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations. It also reflects the University’s orientation toward enhancing applied research, contributing to policy formulation, and strengthening its scientific capacity in support of Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
