UFM Strengthens International Cooperation: Welcomes and Works with the Guangdong Institute for International Strategies (China)
On the afternoon of March 12, 2026, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) officially welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from the Guangdong Institute for International Strategies (GIIS), China. The meeting opened up promising opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, innovation, and the development of high-quality human resources between the two institutions.
The event was organized in accordance with Plan No. 773/KH-ĐHTCM, which aims to strengthen academic exchange and connect with the international innovation ecosystem. It also marked a strategic step toward expanding cooperation and sharing experience in university governance and teaching in the context of rapid digital transformation.
Representing UFM, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Cao Tan Huy, Vice President of the University, with the participation of leaders from several units, including the Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation, Office of Science Management, Institute of International Political Economy, Institute of International Education, Institute of Graduate Studies, and the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism.
The GIIS delegation was led by Prof. Li Qing, President of GIIS, accompanied by senior researchers Assoc. Prof. Zou Jialing, Assoc. Prof. Sun Zhaoji, and Assoc. Prof. Ma Jing.

During the meeting, Dr. Cao Tan Huy emphasized the importance of establishing long-term partnerships with international strategic research institutes. He expressed UFM’s interest in exploring cooperation in postgraduate training programs and annual scholar exchange initiatives.
Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaboration in applied research, particularly in areas such as international trade, supply chain optimization, and practice-oriented training aligned with market demands. They also exchanged valuable insights on the application of digital technologies in university management and teaching.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photo, symbolizing the growing friendship between the two institutions. The discussions laid an important foundation for future cooperation and the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UFM and GIIS, further enhancing the university’s presence and reputation in the global academic community.
The visit from GIIS not only reflected UFM’s active international engagement but also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to expanding partnerships with reputable global institutions to provide greater value for students and the research community.
