UFM Signs Cooperation Agreement with the Southern Office of the Communist Review
On the morning of March 13, 2026, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) held a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Southern Representative Office of the Communist Review. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening cooperation in scientific research, academic exchange, and the development of high-quality human resources between the two institutions.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review; and Dr. Phung Ngoc Bao, Director of the Southern Representative Office of the Communist Review, along with leaders, experts, and editors of the journal.
Representing UFM were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University; Dr. Cao Tan Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, together with leaders of university units, lecturers, and staff members.
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat emphasized that cooperation with the Communist Review – the theoretical and political journal of the Party Central Committee – holds significant importance for enhancing scientific research, academic exchange, and faculty development at UFM. Through this partnership, the University expects to strengthen connections with experts and scholars, thereby improving research and training quality in areas such as economics, finance, management, and public policy.
On behalf of the Communist Review, Dr. Phung Ngoc Bao expressed appreciation for the cooperation potential between the two institutions, particularly in organizing scientific conferences, academic forums, joint research projects, and scholarly publications. He also noted that UFM is the first university with which the Communist Review has established a formal cooperation agreement.
Under the signed MOU, the two parties will collaborate on a range of initiatives, including organizing academic conferences and forums on socio-economic issues, conducting joint research projects, exchanging experts, lecturers, and researchers to participate in teaching and scientific advisory activities, and coordinating in academic publishing and research dissemination. The partnership will also promote training programs aimed at improving research capacity, academic writing, and political theory studies for lecturers and researchers.
Delivering remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between theoretical research institutions and universities in advancing knowledge, supporting scientific research, and contributing to public policy development. He expressed confidence that the partnership between the Communist Review and UFM would generate meaningful outcomes and help bring theoretical and academic values closer to socio-economic practice.
During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat and Dr. Phung Ngoc Bao officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding, witnessed by leaders and delegates from both institutions.
The five-year agreement provides a foundation for expanded collaboration in research, training, and human resource development, contributing to the advancement of academic activities and theoretical studies associated with socio-economic development.
