UFM Signs Cooperation Agreement with Bac Lieu University to Promote Human Resource Development in the Mekong Delta Region
On March 14, 2026, Bac Lieu University hosted the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) and Bac Lieu University, marking a new milestone in the partnership between the two higher education institutions. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in education, scientific research, and community engagement, contributing to the development of human resources in the Mekong Delta region.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Tan Can, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Le Tan Dung, former Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives from local departments and agencies.
Representing the two universities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University of Finance – Marketing, and Dr. Phan Van Dan, President of Bac Lieu University, together with leaders, lecturers, and staff from both institutions.
During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat and Dr. Phan Van Dan signed the Memorandum of Understanding, agreeing to implement several key areas of cooperation. These include sharing resources in education and scientific research, exchanging lecturers and students, sharing academic programs and digital learning resources, and jointly organizing scientific conferences, training programs, and community service activities.
The two universities will also collaborate on joint research projects and technology transfer initiatives, support postgraduate education—particularly doctoral training, and organize professional development programs to enhance university governance, modern teaching methods, and international research publication skills for academic staff.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Le Tan Can highly appreciated the significance of the partnership and expressed his expectation that the cooperation would be implemented effectively, contributing to improving training quality and promoting scientific research aligned with the socio-economic development needs of localities, especially in the Mekong Delta region.
The partnership between the University of Finance – Marketing and Bac Lieu University is expected to leverage the strengths of both institutions, laying a solid foundation for future programs in education, research, and innovation, and contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for sustainable regional and national development.
