Joining the Mission of the Minister of Education and Training in the United States from September 19 to September 23, 2022, on September 21, 2022, in Princeton city, New Jersey state, United States, the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation with Concord University (Concord) - within the framework of Vietnam – U.S. Education Week.
Under the witness of senior leaders of the U.S. Department of Education, as well as of the Minister of Education of Vietnam - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son, the signing ceremony went well, opening the relationship of cooperation in training, exchanging of high-quality human resources, researching, etc.; contributing to socio-economic development for Vietnam; and simultaneously improving the current standing and capacity of the two units.
During the Signing Ceremony, on the UFM side, there was the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat - Rector of the University. On the Concord side, there were Prof. Dr. Kendra Boggess - School President; Mr. Edward Huffstetler – School Principal, Vice President and Ms. Nancy Ellison – the Director of International Training Programs attending the ceremony.
On this ocassion, Professor Boggess - President of Concord University expressed her joy and excitement at the cooperation between UFM and Concord in the future. She also shared: Concord is the leading public liberal arts university in West Virginia, specializing in training in economics and marketing in the model of a university applying with the environment, management methodologies and advanced curriculums, providing high-quality human resources for integration and favourable job opportunities for graduates.
Currently, Concord has 10 training majors/specialties in fields related to economics and marketing with enthusiastic lecturers at the top. Ms. Boggess emphasized that the common point to form the cooperation between Concord and UFM is the focus on students and the quality of training, teaching as well as the qualifications of the teaching staff, which is a great potential source in the cooperation between the two units. The president of Concord also believes that, after this Signing Ceremony, the relationship between the two schools will become closer and the cooperation and exchange activities about students, lecturers, academics, etc. will be promoted effectively and appropriately with the potential and strengths of each school.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat - Rector of UFM also expressed his appreciation to Concord's great enthusiasm and support, confirming a cooperative relationship between the two universities and believing that this cooperation will bring new learning opportunities to students, stimulate innovations in teaching methods, as well as to implement transfer programs, international cooperation, scientific research, etc., creating practical values to students and lecturers.
On the basis of working and discussing over the past year, leaders of the two units signed a cooperation agreement with important matters: International cooperation and academic sharing; documents and publications exchange, and top training programs collaboration between the two schools for teaching and improving courses, meeting the needs of domestic and international students. Particularly, Concord School promises to provide great incentives on tuition fees, as well as support massively in terms of procedures for students from UFM. The president of Concord also hopes to welcome transfer students from UFM who are expected to come to Concord and conduct the transfer program at Concord in January 2023. Currently, both schools are working in an effort to encourage students to exert themselves at Concord University, opening up opportunities to study and experience a superior education in the United States. In fact, the enrollment period for the next transfer to Concord University has begun.
