The University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) has been ranked 14th worldwide in Commercial Banking research in the ScholarGPS Academic Institutional Rankings 2025. Announced during the University’s 50th anniversary year, the achievement marks a significant milestone in UFM’s growing international academic presence.

The result was recorded at the Specialty level in the Lifetime category, recognizing UFM’s long-term research performance in this specialized field. UFM was listed among the world’s 20 leading institutions alongside internationally recognized universities such as the University of Kansas, Boston College, the University of Chicago, Tilburg University and Duke University.

According to ScholarGPS data, UFM’s Lifetime research profile includes 58 scientific publications, 562 citations and 26 scholars with strong citation records. Of these, 50 publications and 506 citations were recorded within the most recent five-year period, reflecting a marked increase in both research productivity and international academic impact.

UFM’s research strengths are closely aligned with its core areas of education and expertise. Business and Management accounts for the majority of its recorded publications and researchers, while Finance and Marketing remain the University’s most prominent disciplines.

Highly cited UFM studies address a broad range of contemporary and practical issues, including digital finance, e-wallets, banking stability, internal control, credit risk, financial inclusion, monetary policy, stock markets, green finance, corporate governance, digital transformation and artificial intelligence. The growing integration of finance, banking, business, marketing and technology has become a distinctive feature of the University’s interdisciplinary research.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of UFM, described the ranking as meaningful recognition of the University’s sustained investment in research and advanced education, particularly in finance, banking, economics and marketing.

UFM will continue to strengthen its leading research groups, improve the quality of international publications and expand academic cooperation. The University also aims to transform research findings into educational products, policy recommendations and practical solutions serving businesses, the financial sector and the wider economy.

The ScholarGPS ranking not only acknowledges the contributions of UFM’s lecturers and researchers but also provides further momentum for the University to develop an integrated academic ecosystem connecting research, education, innovation and knowledge transfer.

Building on its established strengths in finance, banking, economics and marketing, UFM is working to enhance its position among research-oriented and application-driven universities while making practical contributions to Vietnam’s business community and economic development.
