UFM Hue branch strengthens cooperation with Hue Department of Science and Technology

On August 4, 2026, the Hue Branch of University of Finance - Marketing held a working session with the Hue Department of Science and Technology to discuss potential cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and human resource development in support of the city’s socio-economic growth.

The delegation from the Hue Department of Science and Technology was led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Member of the Hue Party Committee and Director of the Department, accompanied by representatives of its specialized divisions. Representing the University’s Hue Branch were Dr. Hoang Hong Hiep, Director of the Branch; Dr. Tran Tu Luc, Deputy Director; and faculty members.

At the meeting, Dr. Hoang Hong Hiep introduced the University’s development orientation, emphasizing the close integration of education, scientific research, knowledge transfer, and community engagement. He noted that research activities should address the practical needs of local authorities and businesses while contributing to innovation and generating applicable solutions.

The Hue Branch proposed strengthening cooperation with the Department in several areas, including scientific research and innovation; training and human resource development; academic conferences and forums; policy research and consultancy; and support for businesses in entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and data development.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son outlined Hue City’s priorities in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. He highlighted the importance of the “three-party” collaboration model involving government, researchers, and businesses, with enterprises playing a central role in adopting and applying research outcomes.

The Department also suggested research areas aligned with the University’s strengths, including economic forecasting and statistical indicators, the digital economy and innovation indices, digital transformation in the heritage economy, and policies supporting science, technology, and technology transfer for businesses.

Both sides agreed to further develop practical cooperation in three key areas: conducting research projects addressing Hue City’s socio-economic development needs; training and developing high-quality human resources; and strengthening university–industry linkages to promote technology transfer, innovation, and the commercialization of research outcomes.

The meeting laid an important foundation for closer cooperation between the Hue Branch of University of Finance - Marketing and the Hue Department of Science and Technology, contributing to education quality, innovation, and the sustainable development of Hue City.
