As part of its working visit to the Russian Federation, a delegation from the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, President of UFM, visited and held a working session with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Financial University – FU), during which the two institutions signed a cooperation agreement and discussed concrete areas for further collaboration.

The UFM delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Stanislav Evgenievich Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, together with representatives of the university’s academic and professional units.

The working program was designed to combine institutional-level cooperation with in-depth discussions between specialized academic units, reflecting both universities’ shared intention to move beyond general commitments and develop practical, outcome-oriented cooperation.

During the morning session, leaders of UFM and FU exchanged views on their respective strengths and development priorities before signing a cooperation agreement covering several key areas, including joint development of academic programs, student and faculty exchange, scientific and technological research, academic conferences and seminars, and the publication of research outcomes.

Cooperation in academic program development is expected to create opportunities for the two universities to share experience in curriculum design, update training content, and further strengthen the international dimension of higher education. Student and faculty exchange programs are also expected to provide broader opportunities for academic interaction, international learning, teaching, and research.

Scientific and technological cooperation was identified as another area with considerable potential. Through joint research projects, academic conferences, seminars, and research publications, faculty members and researchers from both institutions will have greater opportunities to build professional networks, establish research groups, and develop collaborative research themes based on the strengths of each university.

A notable feature of the visit was that discussions moved directly from the signing ceremony to implementation at the faculty level.

In the afternoon, representatives of UFM held specialized working sessions with corresponding faculties and academic units of the Financial University. The discussions focused on practical areas that could be developed in the next stages of cooperation, including curriculum development, faculty and student mobility, joint research, academic events, and co-publication of research findings.

By combining an institutional agreement with direct engagement among academic units, the two universities aim to create a stronger foundation for translating the cooperation framework into specific programs and measurable outcomes.

This approach also reflects UFM’s broader orientation toward developing international partnerships that generate practical value for students, lecturers, researchers, and academic communities.

Founded in 1919, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation is a long-established higher education institution with strengths in finance, economics, law, mathematics, information technology, sociology, and the social sciences. Over the course of its development, the university has expanded its academic profile and built cooperation networks with higher education institutions in Russia and abroad.

With shared academic strengths in finance, economics, management, and human resource development, UFM and FU have significant potential to expand cooperation in education and scientific research in the coming years. The signing of the cooperation agreement, together with the immediate launch of faculty-level discussions, marks an important step in UFM’s efforts to broaden its international academic network and deepen cooperation with overseas higher education institutions.

Building on the newly established framework, the two universities are expected to explore further opportunities in joint academic program development, student and faculty exchange, research collaboration, academic conferences, and scientific publications.

Through these activities, UFM continues to strengthen its international engagement, enhance the quality of education, expand research capacity, and create greater opportunities for its academic community to participate in international teaching, learning, and research environments.
