As part of its international working trip to the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan from September 23 to October 2, 2026, a delegation from the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, President of UFM, visited Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) and signed a cooperation agreement with the university.

The UFM delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Igor Anatolyevich Maksimtsev, Rector of UNECON, together with representatives of the university’s academic and professional units. The visit took place on the occasion of UNECON’s new academic year opening ceremony and its traditional anniversary celebration.

During the working session, leaders of the two universities discussed cooperation orientations and signed an agreement aimed at promoting collaboration in training, student and faculty exchange, and scientific research. These areas are closely aligned with the academic strengths and development strategies of both institutions, particularly in economics, finance, and management.
The agreement provides a foundation for UFM and UNECON to develop academic exchange programs, strengthen connections among lecturers and students, share professional experience, and jointly conduct research activities. Student exchange programs are also expected to provide learners from both universities with greater opportunities to experience international learning environments, enhance professional competencies, develop intercultural skills, and broaden their global perspectives.

As part of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat attended UNECON’s opening ceremony for the new academic year and its traditional anniversary celebration. In his remarks, he extended congratulations to UNECON’s leaders, faculty, staff, and students, while expressing his expectation that cooperation between the two universities would continue to develop in a spirit of friendship, effectiveness, and mutual benefit.
He also expressed UFM’s willingness to welcome UNECON students to Vietnam through future exchange programs, thereby creating more opportunities for students from both universities to study, experience different cultures, and build lasting international connections.
Founded in 2012, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics is a leading higher education institution in economics and management in the Russian Federation. The university currently has approximately 15,000 full-time students, including more than 900 international students, and maintains an extensive network of partnerships with universities and international organizations worldwide.

The signing of the cooperation agreement marks an important milestone in UFM’s international engagement, further expanding its network of global partners. It also creates new opportunities for the two universities to strengthen cooperation in education and research, contributing to improved training quality, greater academic exchange, and deeper international integration.
