On the morning of January 22, 2026, the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Truong Ward, in coordination with the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), organized a Tree-Planting Ceremony in response to Vietnam Green Tree Day at the University campus (306 Vo Van Hat Street, Long Truong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

The activity was organized to spread the message of environmental protection and raise community awareness of the vital role of trees in climate regulation and the improvement of living environments, while also responding to President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: “For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people.”

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Kieu Ngoc Vu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Long Truong Ward, along with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Standing Bodies of the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward, and representatives of local departments, agencies, and forces.

Representing the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) were Dr. Cao Tan Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the University, and Chairman of the University Trade Union; representatives of functional units, union members, and students of the University also took part in the program.

In his remarks at the ceremony, a representative of the leadership of Long Truong Ward emphasized that tree planting is not merely a symbolic or campaign-based activity, but a practical and long-term solution within the strategy for sustainable urban development. It contributes to building a green, clean, and beautiful living environment and improving the quality of life for local residents.

Representing UFM, Dr. Cao Tan Huy affirmed that, as a public higher education institution under the Ministry of Finance, the University consistently integrates environmental protection awareness and sustainable development into its training activities and student movements. The tree-planting ceremony serves as a meaningful form of experiential education, helping to foster a green lifestyle and a sense of social responsibility among students—the core force of the future.

At the event, the leadership of Long Truong Ward officially launched a tree-planting movement, calling on officials, union members, students, and local residents to join hands in caring for, protecting, and expanding green spaces in the area, so that tree planting becomes a regular, sustained activity closely associated with community life.

Immediately following the launch, leaders of Long Truong Ward and the University of Finance – Marketing carried out the ceremonial tree planting, marking the beginning of new green growth and demonstrating a shared commitment to a healthy and sustainable living environment for today and for future generations.

The Tree-Planting Ceremony in response to Vietnam Green Tree Day not only contributed to enhancing the landscape of the area, but also strongly disseminated the message of environmental responsibility, green urban development, and sustainable growth linked with education and the community.
