RICUP 2025: UFM Students Win Outstanding Research Awards for Breakthrough and Highly Practical Solutions
On the afternoon of October 17, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) participated in the Final Round of the RICUP 2025 (Research with Impact Cup – 1st Edition), co-hosted at the University of Economics and Finance (UEF). The competition featured high-quality research projects from students representing five universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them, two UFM student teams won the Outstanding Research Award for Breakthrough and Highly Practical Solutions and the Potential Research Application Award.
The competition aims to identify and honor innovative research ideas capable of generating positive social impact and contributing to the community. This year’s entries covered a diverse range of research areas, particularly in economics, business, and finance. Each project reflected the students’ ability to observe, explore, and apply academic knowledge to real-world problems—sharpening their independent thinking, teamwork, and scientific presentation skills, all essential for academic and professional development.
After a rigorous evaluation process, the Organizing Committee announced the results. From UFM, the research titled “Spillover effects between DeFi assets and ASEAN-6 stock markets” by Nguyen Tran The Dan, Nguyen Thuy Thanh Ngan, Tran Bui Hong Tuoi, Pham Thuy Anh, and Luyen Nhat Tam, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thai Hung, won the Outstanding Research Award for Breakthrough and Highly Practical Solutions.

Another UFM project, titled “Analyzing the spillover and threshold effects of digital transformation on the business performance of Vietnamese commercial banks”, received the Potential Research Application Award. The study was conducted by Vu Nguyen Anh Tuan, Thai Nguyen Thien Kim, Pham Thi Thao Nguyen, An Tran Ngoc Hoai, and Le Thi Thanh, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hang Nga and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Duy.
Although RICUP 2025 has officially concluded, its spirit of learning, innovation, and research excellence continues to inspire students at UFM and across Ho Chi Minh City. The competition was not only a platform to showcase scientific research but also a journey of growth, reminding every student that knowledge gains true meaning only when applied to real life—when it creates impact and brings value to society.
