National scientific conference on local governance, innovation, and digital transformation

On the afternoon of June 16, 2026, immediately following the Ceremony Announcing the Decision on the Establishment of the Branch Campus, the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province, in coordination with UFM, organized a National Scientific Conference themed:
“Local Governance, Innovation, and Digital Transformation – Drivers for Enhancing Competitiveness and Sustainable Development of Quang Ngai Province in the New Period.”

The conference was attended by leaders of Quang Ngai Province, representatives of provincial departments and agencies, experts, scientists, policymakers, and members of the business community.
In the opening remarks, a leader of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee emphasized the need to reform governance methods, improve human resource quality, and regard science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of development.

In his keynote address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat – Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University – stated that Quang Ngai needs to create new competitive advantages based on the quality of governance, the knowledge intensity of its human resources, and the capacity to effectively mobilize and utilize resources.

Nearly 30 papers focused on identifying existing bottlenecks and proposing solutions related to local governance, digital infrastructure, innovation, the restructuring of investment resources, and the strengthening of linkages among government, universities, businesses, and the community.

Within the framework of the program, the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province and UFM signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in training, scientific research, policy consultation, and support for local enterprises.
