UFM organizes “Career Talk & Hotel Tour” at LOTTE Saigon Hotel
To promote an application-oriented training approach and expand cooperation with enterprises, on January 9, 2026, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) organized the “Career Talk & Hotel Tour” program at LOTTE Saigon Hotel (2A–4A Ton Duc Thang Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The activity was a highlight in the series of university–industry engagement programs, providing students with opportunities to directly experience a professional working environment while enhancing their understanding of career requirements in the service sector.
LOTTE Saigon Hotel is part of the LOTTE Hotels & Resorts system—a premium hospitality and service brand with a wide network of properties across the region, well known for its well-structured operations, strong focus on customer experience, and internationally standardized service culture. Choosing LOTTE Saigon as the venue enabled students to observe a large-scale, professionally operated hotel model, thereby gaining clearer insights into career pathways as well as the standards and expectations currently demanded by the labor market.
The program was designed in a “two-in-one” format, combining a career talk (career orientation seminar) with a hotel tour (on-site visit and observation). The activity involved 50 students majoring in Hotel Management and Restaurant & Food Service Management. From the very beginning of the program, many UFM students expressed their excitement about learning in a real professional environment, proactively preparing questions and actively engaging with department managers and leaders of LOTTE Saigon Hotel.
During the Career Talk session, representatives of LOTTE Saigon shared an overview of the hospitality labor market, key recruitment requirements, and highlighted the core competencies prioritized by employers, including service professionalism, effective communication, workplace discipline, teamwork, foreign language proficiency, and problem-solving skills. 'The discussion became particularly engaging as students raised many practical, career-focused questions, centering on topics such as the skills needed to gain a competitive edge during internships, evaluation criteria for candidates across different departments, career development pathways, service standards in a luxury hotel environment, and ways to cultivate professional attitudes aligned with corporate culture. The candid and concrete insights provided by LOTTE Saigon representatives helped students “decode” employer expectations in the hospitality sector, offering a valuable basis for adjusting their study plans, accumulating practical experience, and strengthening essential skills to meet industry standards.
Through this activity at LOTTE Saigon, UFM continues to reaffirm its practice-oriented training approach and its commitment to expanding the network of corporate partners. The University will further implement similar programs to help students accumulate practical experience, stay updated on labor market demands, and be well prepared to integrate into a professional working environment in the tourism, restaurant, and hospitality sectors.
In recognition of the valuable contributions of LOTTE Saigon Hotel to hands-on training at the enterprise level, UFM sincerely extends its appreciation to the hotel’s leadership, department heads, and all staff members. The University looks forward to continued support and partnership from LOTTE Saigon in the time ahead.
