On October 1st, 2022, Danang University of Economics cooperated with other national and international educational institutes including London South Bank University (UK), Yokohama National University (Japan), National Economics University (VN), University of Finance – Marketing (VN), and Da Nang Young Entrepreneur Association (VN) to organize the international conference entitled "Marketing in new normal: promoting digital power in connected age”. Hundreds of domestic and foreign scientists and experts in the field attended the conference via online platform and in-person meeting.

The conference is a useful forum for scientists, researchers, marketers and those interested in the field to share their working experience and exchange the updated information about major trendy changes in marketing in the new normal as well. In addition, the event creates a close connection among research and business communities and related partners, making contribution to marketing development in Vietnam.

With advancement in technology and changes in customer behavior in the context of new normal, marketers are forced to find suitable digital marketing strategies to approach their customers and meet their requirements. While a great deal of research has been carried out to investigate and predict the impact of digital marketing on customer perception and behavior, the marketers, currently applying updated marketing tools in their business, still continue working hard to produce creative marketing strategies to market their products to customers or services to clients. In this conference, many topical issues related to marketing in the context of new normal were discussed in detail, from the perspective of marketing experts and policy makers on marketing strategies to the viewpoint of entrepreneurs on practical actions

Professor Raymond Burke introduced numerous breakthrough solutions in the field of Marketing

Professor Raymond Burke from Indiana University (US), a keynote speaker and a leading expert in marketing, highlighted the possible marketing approaches that are used to increase the interaction between customers and businesses and to remove potential barriers occurring in trading process. He also introduced a variety of assessment tools for evaluating customers’ shopping experiences in terms of quality and productivity, including simulation models using augmented reality, customer tracking systems and biometric devices.

Through his research, he performed a comparative analysis on how customers were in interaction with shopping environment. Based on the results from the analysis, the marketers could identify which specific categories of products and brands were low at sales figures, thus making appropriate changes in how to organize and display the products in the stores as well as advertise them on media in order to promote sales for each product category.

The conference was divided into 10 discussion  sessions on the following topics: (1) Trends and approaches to newly emerging digital marketing; (2) Digital marketing analysis; (3) Characteristics and portraits of consumers in the digital age; (4) Changes in consumer behavior in Vietnam and the world in the context of new normal; (5) Adaptation and transformation in marketing and business models in Vietnam and the world in the context of new normal; (6) Marketing activities in Vietnamese and global enterprises in the context of new normal: opportunities and challenges; (7) Marketing training  and supply of marketing services in the context of new normal: opportunities and challenges; (8) Downsides of contemporary marketing practices; (9) Adaptation of marketing activities during global crisis; (10) Marketing for a better world: sustainable marketing, ethical marketing and social marketing.
