UFM’s Graduate Studies - Innovation and Quality Improvement
  • Postgraduate studies have always been of special interest by the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) by renovating the programs, improving quality, linking training with the requirements of local businesses and state agencies. On December 14, 2017, UFM held a conference on improving the quality of postgraduate training with the presence of UFM President, Dr. Hoang Duc Long, and a great number of scientists, professors and lecturers who have participated in the graduate training programs.

  • To implement the Government Resolution on Education and Training Reform of Vietnam, the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) has actively implemented the training reform in general and the postgraduate studies in particular to meet the social requirements and to integrate into the world.
  • According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao, Head of Postgraduate Studies Department, UFM had established two specialized subcommittees tasked with developing training programs, updating, supplementing and adjusting the training programs, thesis guidance, proposal of a list of thesis review councils, etc. At the same time, to implement the policy of combining scientific research with postgraduate training, many doctoral candidates and master’s students together with their instructor-lecturers have participated in grassroots to ministerial and state levels with various scientific research subjects.

  • With a flexible learning plan and the application of information technology in training, the University has created many favorable conditions for doctoral candidates and graduate students to meet both work and study needs.
  • At the conference, the delegates exchanged ideas with heated discussions and made suggestions and recommendations to renovate and improve the quality of postgraduate training, create favorable conditions for the trainees in which there are proposed solutions to accelerate the rate of progress of master’s thesis and doctoral candidates’ dissertation such as strengthening the monitoring of the implementation of training plan of trainees; regularly updating the lectures, supplementing the content of the training programs; evaluating the drafts of fundamentals of theses and dissertations; Master’s students and doctoral candidates must report their mid-term progress and hold their thesis and dissertation conference before officially defending their thesis/dissertation.

  • The University of Finance - Marketing has enrolled its master’s training programs since 2011 up to now with 11 courses in Ho Chi Minh City, 1 course in Lao PDR and 5 courses in the Southern West region with a total of nearly 3,000 students. In 2016, the university enrolled its first doctoral program in Finance and Banking, and in 2017 its first doctoral program in Business Administration. Specialized courses for postgraduate education are open regularly, with hundreds of in-service officials attending each year. Currently, the Department of Postgraduate Studies continues to enroll the next course.
