Workshop: "Business in 4.0 Industrial Revolution"
  • On the morning of October 1, 2017, the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) in co-ordination with the Financial Magazine held a workshop on "Business in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution". The discussion took place at the the university head office, 2/4 Tran Xuan Soan, Tan Thuan Tay Ward, District 7. Attending the workshop was the University Board of Management, leadership of Financial Magazine, enterprises, banks, and the financial sector in Ho Chi Minh City and the media and newspapers.

  • The workshop was attended by the following speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, Director of Vietnam Economic Institute, member of the Government Advisory Team; Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, former Deputy-Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management; Mr. Pham Xuan Hoe, Deputy-Director of Banking Strategy Institute. Special guest-speaker in the workshop was Dr. Arvid C. Johnson, President of Saint Francis University, USA, a prestigious economic expert who serves as economic advisor to the government and large companies in the United States.

  • The current industrial revolution of 4.0 is taking place in developed countries on three main areas: Biotechnology, Digital and Physics. The workshop will help banks and businesses update the latest information on the fourth revolution, opportunities and challenges at the macro and micro levels that will help banks and businesses. It can give specific business plans to face this industrial revolution. This is also a place for the sharing of successful experience from leading banks and enterprises in the application of industrial revolution of 4.0 to improve and apply modern technology and create a forum for scientists, experts, business leaders to exchange ideas, and propose optimal solutions to business success in the new industrial revolution.

  • The workshop focused on the following issues: Overview of the industrial revolution of 4.0; analysis and assessment of the shortcomings of the banking systems, financial services and Vietnamese enterprises ahead of the 4.0 industrial revolution; some typical examples of successful banks and financial services in the 4.0 industry; proposed solutions focusing on human resource development for the 4.0 industry. At the same time, the training of human resources to meet the requirements of this revolution was also shared by the representatives of Saint Francis University.

  • The 4.0 Industrial Revolution brings about great changes and is taking place very quickly, especially in developed countries. This creates opportunities but also presents challenges and risks for businesses and companies. The workshop will help identify the strengths of companies and at the same time help them understand the potential risks for enterprises to integrate and adapt to this industrial revolution.
