Symposium on "Perfecting Tax, Fee Policy for Environmental Protection"
  • In the morning of July 14, 1977, at the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), the Institute of Strategy & Financial Policy (Ministry of Finance), Tax Policy Department and UFM held a scientific seminar "Perfecting tax policy and fee for environmental protection". The seminar were attended by about 100 delegates representing the leadership of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), UFM, businesses, associations, universities, colleges, research institutes, press agencies and local state management agencies

  • The ministerial-level seminar was led by the presidium consisting of Mr. Truong Ba Tuan, Deputy Director of MoF Institute of Strategy & Financial Policy (ISFP), Mr. Vu Khac Liem, Deputy Director of MoF Tax Policy Department and UFM Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Hong Thai. The seminar aims to provide a forum for scientists, government officials from various state, ministerial agencies to exchange views on policies and the implementation of environmental protection tax policies and on the theoretical and practical foundation to make recommendations to the policies. This is also a bridge to create good relationships between state management agencies, financial institutions and UFM and ISFP to create conditions for exchanging and sharing experience in business and production activities associated with education and training.

  • At the seminar, participants discussed, exchanged opinions and questioned shortcomings of issues in order to improve and perfect tax and fee policies for environmental protection. For years, environmental issues have always been one of the issues that have attracted the attention of many industries and areas, and are routinely dissected topics at seminars, conferences or meetings of various levels. The seminar focused on issues related to identifying policy issues and implementing tax policy for environmental protection, thus proposing solutions to improve tax policies for environmental protection and fee policies for environmental protection for gaseous emissions.
