Faculty of National Defense and Physical Education


  • The Faculty of National Defense and Physical Education (DND&PE) was established under Decision No. 2945 / QD-BTC issued by the Minister of Finance on 27/11/2013. The precursor of DND&PE was the Gymnasium Section under the Student Affairs Office, and in 2010 was the Division of National Defense and Physical Education under the Faculty of Basic Education.
  • The total number of current staff consists of 11 lecturers and one administrative secretary. In which there are a head of faculty and a head of the Physical Education Division. There are 7 lecturers with Masters’ degree and 5 bachelors, with an MA holder presently participating in a doctoral program at the HCMC University of Gymnastics & Sports; 1 graduate student at the HCMC University of Pedagogy; and 1 at the University of Finance – Marketing. The Division of Defense Education – Security consists of one senior Lieutenant-Colonel and five trainers who were trained under the Prime Minister's 607 project. The DND&PE has two divisions:
    • Division of National Defense & Security Education
    • Division of Physical Education.
  • The DND&PE is responsible for teaching the modules of National Defense Education - Security - Physical Education and coordinating sports movements and activities for the University’s managers, staffs and students. The Faculty performs management and curriculum development, preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, and giving lectures. Besides, the Faculty regularly organizes class observation hours, sends faculty members to attend refresher courses improving their professional qualifications.
  • In terms of organizing sports movements and activities, the Faculty plays the role of coaching and leading the university’s sports teams competing against other competitors citywide and nationwide, having achieved a number of merits and awards. The Faculty also takes part in sports events as referee in UFM’s student sports games, UFM Labor Union’s and the City Confederation of Labor’s sports maneuvers, which have contributed to creating a vibrant, healthy sports playground for students and UFM union members.
