Faculty of Information Technology

  • The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), one of main academic faculties of University of Finance – Marketing (UFM), established in 2009 was transformed from the former Faculty of Managing Informatics (established in 2004). The mission of the faculty is to train and develop the IT human resources, especially Management Information Systems and Accounting Information Systems. The faculty also provides students from other academic faculties with informatics training.
  • The faculty consists of well-qualified lecturers who hold Ph.D. and MSc. degrees and are graduated from well-known foreign and domestic universities.
  • The FIT is comprised of the following divisions:
    • Division of Basics
    • Division of Database
    • Division of Computer Networks.
  • The Faculty of Information Technology is affiliated with more than 50 local and international IT companies to help faculty orient their training, support practice and internship of students, sponsoring the fund of student scholarship, and recruit graduates. At the same time, the faculty is also partnered with other IT faculties from domestic and international universities to exchange lecturers, students, guest lecturers and jointly organize scientific seminars.
  • The Faculty equips students with basic theories (programming languages, computer networks, operating system); programming skills (programming methodology, advance programming); organization of data and programs (data structures, algorithms: analysis and design, databases, object-oriented programming); software development (software engineering, system analysis and design, mobile devices programing, web programming), and knowledge on computer networks.
  • In addition, from the field of information systems, our students study the design, implementation, and evaluation of information technologies from a variety of perspectives. The goal is to produce solutions that transform data into information and knowledge that is useful for individuals and organizations.
  • At present, the faculty has two training programs including, namely:
    • Management Information Systems
    • Accounting Information Systems.
  • In the coming time, the faculty of Information Technology will expand the scope of training, design and implement postgraduate training programs, promote creative practice, scientific research for students, prepare students for taking exams in Information Technology, and strengthen cooperation with international universities to in raising funds for postgraduate scholarships for the faculty’s graduates.
