Faculty of Finance - Banking


  • The Faculty of Finance and Banking (FFB) was established in 2004. In 2006, the FFB was assigned by the University Management to offer Bachelor’s Degrees in two majors, namely Corporate Finance and Banking. In 2011, the Faculty started to provide graduate programs in Banking & Finance; and by 2015, FFB was assigned to provide a new major, Quantitative Finance. The first course for doctoral degree in Banking & Finance has been launched since 2016.
  • The Faculty has grown significantly for 10 years in operation in terms of professional training and the size of its faculty. By June 2017, the number of faculty has amounted to 27 full-time lecturers, including 2 associate professorship lecturers, 4 doctorate lecturers, and the remaining all holding master’s degree. Among the lecturers holding Master’s, 30% are doing their doctoral studies at well-known domestic and international universities. Being one of UFM’s major academic Faculties, the FFB has by now had more than 2,000 students who attend its diverse programs at all levels and modes of study.
  • To provide the Finance and Banking industry including insurance, businesses and other socio-economic organizations both domestically and internationally with high-quality human resources who can work effectively in the fields of financial risk management, research and operation in financial & banking-related businesses.

  • To become a leading educational institution in Vietnam’s finance and banking sector to meet the standards of educational quality assurance;
  • To build a faculty and managers of highly-qualified speciality with international-level scientific research capabilities;
  • To become a center for scientific research and international cooperation with a specialized banking & finance research system associated with training, capable of solving theoretical and practical problems of the economy, especially of the finance - banking sector, and having highly competitive capabilities of producing scientific theoretical and practical products adapted to the global education integration;
  • To implement the training and scientific research in in applied economics with a focus on the finance - banking sector.

    • Finance, insurance and investment
    • Quantitative finance
Studying Programs
  • Undergraduate: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Post graduate: Masters’ and PhD’s Degree.
  • The system of courses is built on the principle of combining theory and practice based on reference programs and curricula of prestigious universities in countries with advanced education.
  • The training knowledge is regularly updated and highly practical in line with the development trends of Vietnam and the world, especially in the period of international economic integration.
  • Content of core/special subjects are selected and modelled on the process of basic theories combined with experimental reality in order to maximize the positive aspects of learning, research and practical application.
  • All teaching staffs have master's degree or higher, among them several hold the title of associate professorship and doctorate with practical experience in teaching and researching at the regional and international level.
  • Lecturers are highly qualified and enthusiastic researchers who regularly supplement and update new, modern and relevant knowledge to make the lectures more alive and relevant to practicality.

    • Excellent workforce in the university from 2010 to 2016.
    • Certificate of Merit of the Ministry of Finance in 2013 and 2014.
    • Union Activities: Excellent Union Faculty from 2012 to 2016.

    • Many individuals are awarded with the title ‘the University Emulation Fighter’, the certificates of merit from the Ministry of Finance.
